My outdoor motion sensor light doesn’t work with motion. It comes on at dark and remains on.?
It goes out at daybreak. The only function that doesn’t work is the actual motion feature. I’ve tried resetting it via the circuit breaker but no luck there. The red light is blinking as if it’s waiting to detect motion. When I do reset it at night, it doesn’t wait for motion, it automatically comes on and remains on. I didn’t keep the instructions for it but I’m guessing it’s time to replace it. Any other ideas? It’s a Journeyman type model and only survived one storm. Immediately following the storm, it didn’t work at all. It eventually began to work in its current state after the first reset I tried. The sensitivity switch is at the lowest setting and my light on timer is set to one minute.
Next time it comes on, turn it off, then turn it on again. Check it to see if it will now work with motion. If not, replace the motion sensor. Sounds like it is in default mode.
